FUNCTIONAL SKILLS ENGLISH

A qualification for work, study and life. Achievement of an English qualification demonstrates the ability at an appropriate level to read, write, speak, listen and communicate in English, and to apply these skills effectively to a range of purposes in the workplace and in other real life situations.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS MATHS

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their skills in mathematics to help them gain the most from work, education and everyday life. Its assessment requires the learner to apply skills-based and problem-solving techniques in realistic settings

FOOD SAFETY FOR CATERING

On obtaining a food safety qualification, employees who handle food will gain a firm grasp of the importance of food hygiene and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved. Furthermore, those individuals that have successfully completed a food hygiene course will have the confidence and expertise to deliver quality food safely to customers.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The qualification is aimed at learners who are new to an administration role or looking to progress into this type of job role. This qualification will allow learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of business and administration, resulting in the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification. This qualification can be applied to a range of occupational sectors.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to become emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.

SAFEGUARDING AND PROTECTING YOUNG PEOPLE

This qualification is suitable for learners working, or wishing to work, with children and young people. This includes those in voluntary or unpaid positions. Topics include how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace, and how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young persons has been abused.
